  • Driver/Customer Responsibility

    • By using Meter App’s digital taximeter and related services, the driver or user agrees that it is their sole responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
      • Charging customers appropriately and in accordance with state and federal regulations,
      • Setting and displaying fare rates, and
      • Operating in accordance with licensing and tax requirements specific to their jurisdiction.
    • Meter App provides a platform and tools for trip estimation and fare calculation. The company does not assume any responsibility or liability for the rates charged, the accuracy of fares set by the user, or the legality of the user’s operations. All decisions made using the app, including fare rates, are at the sole discretion of the driver or user.
    • By accessing or using the Meter App, the user agrees to indemnify and hold Meter App harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, or legal disputes arising out of the user’s operations, including but not limited to disputes with passengers, regulatory fines, or licensing violations.
  • Privacy and Data Disclosure

    • Meter App respects the privacy of its users and takes data protection seriously. Driver and user data will not be disclosed to third parties, including local authorities, except under the following circumstances:
      • In response to a lawful subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation;
      • To comply with applicable laws or regulations;
      • If required to investigate or prevent suspected fraud, abuse, or illegal activity involving the app.
    • Meter App will notify the user of any such legal request, where permitted by law, before disclosing any personal or operational information to a third party.
    • The user agrees to indemnify and hold Meter App harmless for any claims arising from the use or misuse of their personal or operational data, as long as the data is handled in compliance with this agreement and applicable data protection laws.

      • Any disputes between drivers and passengers regarding fare charges or services,
      • Any violations of law committed by the user while using the app,
      • Loss of data, revenue, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the use of the app.
  • General Usage Acknowledgement

    • By using the Meter App, the user acknowledges and agrees to:
      • Take full responsibility for their actions and business practices while using the platform,
      • Accept liability for any legal or financial consequences arising from their use of the app, and
      • Absolve Meter App of any claims resulting from misuse or failure to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Mandatory Arbitration

    • By using the Meter App, you agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the use of the app, or the relationship between you and Meter App shall be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except where prohibited by law.
    • The arbitration will be conducted by a neutral arbitrator in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) or similar arbitration body agreed upon by the parties.
      • Arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis. Class arbitrations and class actions are not permitted.
      • The arbitrator shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute regarding the interpretation, applicability, or enforceability of this mandatory arbitration clause.
      • The arbitration award shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
    • You and Meter App agree that any claim or dispute must be filed within one (1) year after the cause of action arises. Claims filed after this period are barred.
    • If any part of this arbitration clause is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
